Statement of faith

Our Christian Beliefs

The Godhead

We believe in the one true God, who has revealed Himself as the Eternally Self-existent I AM, existing in three persons. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are distinguished but indivisible in essence co-eternal, co-existent, co-equal in nature, attributes, power and glory (2 Corint. 13:14 , Matt. 28:19, John 14:26 , 1 Peter 1:2).

The Scriptures Inspired

The Bible is the inspired Word of God; a revelation from God to mankind. It is the infallible rule of faith and conduct and as such is above conscience and reason but not contrary to reason (2 Tim. 3:15 -17, 1 Thess. 2:13 )

Original Sin and fallen man

Man was created good and upright, for God said “let Us make man in our image, after our likeness” The first man Adam, through disobedience fell from the position God had intended for mankind and thus sin and death entered into the world. Adam’s transgression incurred not only physical death for all but also spiritual death, which is eternal separation from God. The resultant depravity of sinful human nature necessitates salvation and redemption from the power of sin, which can only be provided through a Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ (Gen. 1:26-31; 2:17 ; 3:6-24, Rom. 5:5; 12-21.

The Salvation of Man

Mankind’s only hope of redemption and salvation from the power of sin is through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12 -18, Rom. 10:9-10). Salvation is by the grace of God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ it is the gift of God and not by works so that no one can boast (Eph. 2:7-9). The evidence to the new believer of Salvation is the inward witness of the Holy Spirit; “The Spirit Himself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God” Rom. 8:16 .

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:18 ). In His love for lost humanity He voluntarily gave His life on the cross one sacrifice for sins forever and thereby He became the Saviour of the world (John 2:1-2). We believe that He physically rose from the dead, on the third day and appeared to many in the flesh (John 20:16-31) and that when He departed the earth He ascended into Heaven where He remains at the right hand of God the Father interceding for us (Rom. 8:34).

The Holy Spirit

The fruit of the Holy Spirit. The work of the Holy Spirit in our lives is evidenced by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. The gift of the Holy Spirit. The power of the Holy Spirit is available to all believers and is manifested through spiritual gifts. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the  interpretation of tongues: The Holy Spirit is also our teacher and the source of power for life and our service in ministry. (Gal.5:7-9; 1 Cor. 12:1-12, Luke 12:12, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:1-47, Isaiah 53:4, Matthew 18:16-17).

Ordinances of the Church

Baptism in water. The ordinance of Baptism is the symbolic identification of the believer with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection (Matt. 28:19, Acts 10:47 -48, Rom. 6:4). The Lord’s Supper or Holy Communion. The Lord’s Supper comprises the elements: the bread and the fruit of the vine. It is the expression of our partaking of the divine nature of the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:4) and a memorial of His suffering and death (1 Cor. 11:26 ) enjoined on all believers until He comes.

The Church

The Church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Holy Spirit with divine appointments for the fulfilment of her great Commission. His intent being that now through the Church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in heavenly places. All believers are born of the Holy Spirit and belong to the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn whose names are written in heaven. The Lord has given a divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry for a two fold purpose; the evangelisation of the world and the edification of the Body of Christ (Eph. 1:22-23; 2:22; 3:10, Heb. 12:23, Acts 1:8, Matt. 28:19-20, Eph. 4:11-13, Rom. 10:14-15.)

Israel

WE ARE COMPLETELY AGAINST THE REPLACEMENT THEOLOGY for God has not replaced Israel with the Church. Romans 11:11 KJV. I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. Romans
11:15 KJV.

For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead? Romans 11:17 KJV . And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Romans 11:25 KJV. For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

The Second Coming of Christ

  1. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thes. 4:16-17 KJV .
  2. This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. Acts 1:11 . To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints. 1 Thes. 3:13 KJV . Behold,
he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. Rev. 1:7 KJV.

The Final Judgement

There will be a final judgement in which the dead will be raised and will be judged according to their works. Whosever is not found written in the Book of life together with the devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophets will be consigned to everlasting punishment in the Lake of fire and brimstone which is the second death. (Matt. 25:46, Heb. 9:27 , Rev. 19:20, Rev. 20:10-15, Rev. 21:1-27).

The New Heaven and the New Earth

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. (2 Peter 3:13 Rev. 21:1-27).
